SINO-THERM Duct Boards are made of high-density fibers bonded by thermoset resin, offering a strong structure with excellent thermal insulation and sound absorption properties. These boards are available in various densities and dimensions featuring butt-edge and shiplap options. These are used to make air ducts, replacing the conventional sheet metal ducts which require outer insulation and internal lining for sound absorption. The inner surface of the duct boards are lined with fine non-woven facing for consistency and reduced resistance to airflow. SINO-THERM boards are commonly supplied with FSK facing, or other customer-specified materials,  on the outer side.    

Using SINO-THERM Duct Boards offer  unique features and numerous benefits to installers and consumers. Some of these are outlined below: 

  • LOW MATERIAL and INSTALLATION COSTS – SINO-THERM Duct Boards are fairly priced to meet consumer demand for a high-quality low cost insulation,  and to meet market competition. The product is easy to manage and handle for the experienced installer. Being light weight yet rigid and strong,  installers comfortably increase productivity and thereby reduces cost of installation.

  • SAVINGS IN ENERGY COSTS- . SINO-THERM  Duct Boards offer excellent thermal insulation performance. It reduces heat loss, increases system efficiency, reduces fuel  costs for heating systems and it improves  temperature control that minimizes energy costs for airconditioning systems.

  • RESISTANCE TO FLAME AND ENVIRONMENT -  SINO-THERM Duct Boards are not flammable, and do not promote capillary action. It also resists the effects of humidity, aging, corrosion,  rust and does not promote bacterial growth.

  • ACOUSTIC INSULATION -  SINO-THERM Duct Boards  have excellent acoustic insulation and sound absorption properties that effectively reduces the level of unwanted noise/cross-talk,  and dampens mechanical vibration from equipment.

  • VAPOR BARRIER – Faced with suitable material such as FSK,  SINO-THERM Duct Boards  when properly installed and airstream  joints sealed,  offers excellent barrier properties and thereby limits chances of condensation which could cause water damage to ceiling boards or architectural elements.  The potential growth of mold, fungus or bacteria is therefore limited as well.

Applications:

SINO-THERM Duct Boards are widely used in production of air ducts for HVAC.  With rigid structure and excellent thermal and acoustic insulation properties, duct boards are considered practical alternative or replacement to the conventional sheet metal ducts which require external insulation and possibly, internal lining, depending on the location of the installation.

SINO-THERM Duct Boards are also used for thermal and acoustic insulation of various industrial equipment which include ovens, furnaces, boilers, low and high temperature process cooling and heating equipment, motors and generators, and other similar equipment and applications. These boards are also installed in theaters, music studios, laboratory and computer rooms, to control effects of echoes and reverberation, reduction of sound levels in rooms and improve sound isolation between rooms.
